Training

The course begins by introducing students to equipment, control techniques, paragliding canopy on the ground (ground handling), followed by the student's first flying experience, always done in calm aeronautical weather conditions, and with gradually increasing difficulty by starting at flat ground and moving up to lower heights. This way, students slowly become accustomed to different altitudes and learn basic flying techniques. Students also have the option of flying for the first time in a ''tandem'' paraglide (which holds two people) with an instructor. Flying with an instructor is the safest way to experience flying for the first time and be able to feel the basic maneuvers for handling paraglide aircrafts.

In addition to practical exercises, training includes a theoretical component that is taught alongside the excercises. Students will need to learn about aerodynamics, aeronautical meteorology, air traffic-safety rules and some basics of first aid. These subjects will be part of a written test that's taken during training and is required to attain a flight permit that's approved and authorized by CAD, in Serbia.

Paragliding Club "KOSAVA" organizes training for paragliding pilots.

More about training can be found here ...

Is Paragliding Safe?

Paragliding and other adventure sports (climbing, diving, mountain climbing, auto and motorcycle racing, other aviation sports) involve risk. To be safe in any sport aviation you have to minimize potential risks. The most important prerequisites to learn how to fly safely are: personal opinion, competent training and safe equipment.
